Causes of Hair Fall/ Hair Loss :

Stress

Extreme stress can cause sudden hair loss, which can last for months. Reducing stress through exercise, massage yoga and meditation can reduce the chances of experiencing hair loss.

Advice : Seek a stress-free life, get plenty of rest, and change your lifestyle a bit.

Hair styling product

Over-treatment or excessive care of hair can lead to hair loss due to harmful chemicals in dyes and styling products. Most of the shampoos contain sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS). It is proved to be toxic to the immune system, destroys hair follicles, preventing hair growth.

Advice: Use natural shampoos and dyes which are sulphate- free.

Thyroid problems

If the thyroid gland present near the neck area produces excess or inadequate amounts of thyroid hormone, the hair growth cycle can change. However, if you have a thyroid problem, you may notice other symptoms related to hair loss, such as weight gain and loss, hypersensitivity to cold and heat, and changes in heart rate.

Hair loss
Malnutrition or Nutritional deficiency

Your diet may be deficient in essential nutrients such as iron, copper, zinc, and protein. Vitamin D deficiency is mostly commonly noticed cause of hair loss. To avoid this, be sure to go outside and sunbathe.

Advice: Keratin levels are supplemented locally and through a protein-rich diet… so , it is insisted to take protein rich diet.

Hormonal Imbalance

After the age of 30, women will experience hormonal imbalance, which can lead to hair loss. This is commonly caused by excessive conversion of dihydrotestosterone (DHT). Estrogen is the main hormone produced by women, but women also produce other androgens such as testosterone and DHEA. When women reach a certain age, they may begin to convert these androgens into DHT.

Women also suffer with hair loss during menopause.

Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS)

Women with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) have hormonal imbalances that cause higher than normal androgen levels. This causes hair growth on the face and body, and leads to thinning of the hair on the head. PCOS may also cause acne ,ovulation problems, and weight gain.

Oral contraceptives

Oral contraceptives can cause hair loss. Ovulation-suppressing pill hormones can thin hair, especially in women with a family history of hair loss. Hair loss may occur when you stop taking the pill.

Other drugs related to hair loss are anticoagulants and drugs that treat high blood pressure, heart disease, arthritis, and depression.

Ageing

As we grow older, our hair tends to grow slower. The hair becomes smaller, less pigmented, and the hair becomes finer, thinner, and grayer. To keep your hair healthy, eat whole some foods that help keep your body and your hair youthful.

Genetics

Hereditary hair loss is known as androgenetic alopecia and is known to be the most common cause of hair loss. This gene can be inherited from either the mother’s or father’s family, but if both parents have hair loss, they are more likely to have the gene.

Medical conditions Telogen effluvium

General shedding from the entire head. We usually lose about 100 hairs a day, but stress, illness, dosing, or hormones can accelerate hair loss. Hair generally recovers within 6 months.

Androgenetic alopecia

For women, the hair usually thins in the upper front, just behind the hairline, but thicker in the back. The enzyme converts the male hormone testosterone to another hormone, dihydrotestosterone (DHT), which makes fine hair until the hair follicles stop.

Alopecia areata

It is an autoimmune disease that affects up to 2% of the population. It causes round spots of hair loss and can lead to complete baldness. Hair often re-grow.

More Tips for controlling Hair Loss :

1.Choosing the right Shampoo

It is very important to understand the type of scalp and choose the right shampoo. Also, depending on the scalp, you may need to wash your hair. For example, excessive washing of hair with a dry scalp can lead to hair loss. Or, the same thing can happen if you don’t wash the oily locks three times a week.

In addition, make sure the shampoo is free from chemicals such as parabens, silicones and sulphates .These chemicals make hair tresses brittle and fragile.

If you really need to use blow dry, keep it at the lowest heat setting. If you use other products that warm your hair, start with a supporting leave-in conditioner and finish with a heat protection spray.

2.Avoid using too much styling product

The use of chemical-rich products in hair can prove harmful in the long run. It’s best to give them a break and try a natural homemade recipe instead.

3.Nourishing with Oil

Oiling keeps your scalp hydrated , helps in strengthening your hair and nourishes the roots. Massage the tufts of hair once a week with an oil that matches your scalp. Cover with a shower cap and rinse with a mild shampoo after 2 hours.

4.Hair accessories and Hair styles

Certain hair accessories, such as hairpins, clips and rubber bands, can cause extensive hair breakage when used to tie up your hair. Tight ponytails, cornrows and braids can also cause tension in the hair and cause it to break and look thin.

For healthy hair, experts recommend to minimize the use of hair accessories and continuously wearing hairstyles that pull your hair should be avoided. Also, when using hair accessories, choose hairpins with balls at the ends, clips with rubber pads, and cloth hair ties instead of rubber bands.

5.Conditioner

A good conditioner can work astoundingly for your lock. Contains amino acids that help to keep your hair smooth as well to repair the damaged hair.

6.Avoid Chemical Hair treatment

Taking excessive hair treatments such as straightening, perming and coloring is definitely not gentle on your hair. In addition, blow dryers and curling rods do not actually boil water in the hair shaft and make it brittle, so do not use it especially on wet hair.

7.Avoid taking hot showers

As comfortable as a hot showers are, it dehydrates the hair (like the skin), removes natural oils from the scalp, and makes the hair dry, brittle and fragile. Instead, choose lukewarm water and rinse your hair at the coldest temperatures.

8.Avoid Combing wet hair

Our strands are fragile when wet. Therefore, it is important to first use a wide-toothed comb or air dry before styling.

9.Regular trimming

Hair tends to be most damaged near the tip, and proper trimming every 6-8 weeks can solve the problem.

Damaged hair has a straw-like texture that can be cut off to promote growth and remove split ends.

Note: It is recommended to seek a professional’s advice if you suffer from severe hair loss.

Love is in the hair…. Let your hair down and have fun!
